Ethical Hacking
Ethical hacking isn't just about finding vulnerabilities, it's also this mentality. You have to think like a threat actor to make systems stronger. I love 'hacking' is the same foundation by which we make systems secure and safe for the people.
CTFs - Capture the Flag
CTFs are little digital battlefields for your brain. Every challenge is a chance to learn or sharpen a real-world skill: pivoting a network, crafting exploits, breaking cryptography, or thinking like a threat actor under pressure. It's a endless pain of dead ends and clawing your way through these difficult challenges. However, I'm addicted, failing is the fastest way for any of us to learn and these machines are hands on experience that teach you through failures and successes.
Open Source
Open source is where innovation happens. It's not locked behind corporate walls -- it's built in the open, but curious people who care about solving problems and sharing. I love contributing because it's the purest form of collaboration: you give something to the community, and the community in return makes everyone better. Nearly everything I build stands on the shoulders of open source projects -- supporting and contributing back isn't just the right thing to do, it's how we push technology forward.
Community
Wish we could have cybersecurity conventions weekly, the community surrounding cyber and the entire realm is amazing. All different kinds of people, areas, and knowledge coming together for a similar goal.
